Overview 

The Discover Shadow AI section enables organizations to identify AI applications accessed within the enterprise environment through integrated discovery capabilities. 

Shadow AI refers to AI tools that are being used by employees but are not yet registered within the platform. 

Discovery helps organizations gain visibility into AI usage patterns across the enterprise. 

Identified tools can then be reviewed and assessed within governance workflows. 

Purpose 

The Discover Shadow AI feature supports visibility of AI tools being accessed within the organization’s digital environment. 

This helps organizations understand which AI applications are being used across teams but may not yet be documented as AI Systems. 

Discovery supports governance teams in identifying AI usage that may require review, registration, or risk assessment. 

Maintaining awareness of AI usage supports consistent governance practices across the organization.

How to use 

access discover shadow AI 

Navigate to AI Inventory. 

Select Discover Shadow AI. 

The dashboard displays AI tools identified through integrated discovery capabilities. 

review discovered tools 

Review detected AI tools to understand usage across the organization. 

Determine whether identified tools should be registered as AI Systems. 

initiate governance actions 

Where appropriate, discovered tools can be evaluated and onboarded into governance workflows.
